A LITTLE BIT

About me

Let Me Introduce Myself

My roots are in Florida where I lived till I left home to attend Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Little did I know I would be in Texas for most of the rest of my life. I left for a short time when I attended the University of North Carolina. But right after graduation, I moved to the Dallas area to start my life. I thought I would only be here for a couple of years and then return back east to settle near family but along came my prince charming and now almost 35 years later, I am more Texan than Floridian.

In Texas, I taught six years in the public schools and then turned my attention towards home where I homeschooled my two sons for 18 years. My oldest graduated from the University of North Texas in 2018. My youngest is attending a local college to pursue computer programming. Betz Academy is now closed but maybe will reopen someday with a new generation.

For many years, I have also had the privilege of teaching women’s Bible studies. My passion is to help others understand how the individual stories of the Bible connect together to tell the one story of God’s love for man and His desire to have a relationship with each person. In my pursuit to accomplish this, in 2015, I published the book The Connection of Christ from Garden to Cross. I have enjoyed teaching this study several times and never tire of God’s amazing story.

It has been incredible to hear from readers how they are gaining the BIG picture of the Bible. They are finding new meaning in its stories by recognizing how Christ’s story is woven through each of them. God’s stories of the Old Testament tell us why we need a Savior while the New Testament introduces us to our Savior. Just like my readers, it has been life changing to see those Sunday school stories connect together and reveal God’s love for us in the one  story of Jesus Christ.

In December 2022, I graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, with a Masters in Theological Studies. I wanted to sit under wise counsel and broaden my knowledge where I could with better confidence share God’s message. In those five years of intense study, I was challenged, blessed, and inspired. In fact, I’m working on a second revision of the book. It’s the most important writing I will ever pen. I want to make sure it’s right.

As I develop this site, more of me will spill out on the pages, like being a mom of autism. Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. I hope in doing so I share something that brings you closer in your daily walk with God.

Let Me Introduce My Editor

Tejay is not only my oldest son, but my invaluable editor on this site. His ability to recognize and convey my message into words is remarkable. I would not be as comfortable sharing my thoughts without his keen insight and talent for writing.

In December of 2018, he graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in History. His passion is learning about the past and seeing how it connects to the present. One day

he hopes to work in a museum in some capacity. Presently, he is continuing his education in his other passion, Informational Technology.

I am enjoying the pleasure of working with him on this site. He’s added a great deal of clarity and insight to my writing. It has also been a blessing to study the Bible together and to learn from each other’s experiences.
